Colgate-Palmolive hikes dividend for 54th consecutive year

Colgate-Palmolive (CL) will raise its quarterly dividend by 2.6 percent.

Dividend Aristocrat Colgate-Palmolive will increase its quarterly dividend from $0.39 to $0.40 per share, marking the 54th straight year of dividend increases.

The Board declared that the second quarter dividend is to be paid on May 15, 2017 to shareholders of record as of April 21, 2017. On an annualized basis, the new dividend rate is $1.60 versus $1.56 per share previously. The Company has paid uninterrupted dividends on its common stock since 1895.

The current dividend yield for Colgate is 2.2%. In 2017 the stock has gained almost 13 percent, resulting in a $65.2 billion market cap.
