Aflac increases dividend for 33rd consecutive year

Dividend Aristocrat Aflac (AFL) will hike its dividend by 5.1%.

The quarterly dividend will be raised to $0.41 per share by the insurer, marking 33 straight years of higher dividends.

"I am pleased with the action by the board of directors to increase the quarterly cash dividend by 5.1%. This marks the 33rd consecutive year of increasing our cash dividend. Our objective is to grow the dividend at a rate generally in line with the increase in operating earnings per diluted share before the impact of foreign currency translation". Aflac currently has an indicated dividend yield of 2.5%.
