Chubb removed from Dividend Aristocrats Index

As of January 15th S&P Dow Jones Indices has removed insurer Chubb from its Dividend Aristocrats Index, following the acquisition by Ace Limited (ACE/CB).

P&C insurer Chubb had raised its dividend for 33 consecutive years, with a 14% dividend hike in February 2015 as the last positive dividend action, prior to the bid by competitor Ace Limited later that year.

S&P Dow Jones Indices, part of Dividend Aristocrat McGraw Hill Financial, didn't yet name a replacement for Chubb, leaving 51 Dividend Aristocrats for the rest of 2016.

Ace Limited has adopted Chubb's name and ticker symbol for it's own listing, replacing the 'ACE' ticker symbol by Chubb's 'CB'.
