Cincinnati Financial pays $0.46 special dividend

Dividend Aristocrat Cincinnati Financial (CINF) has announced a special dividend payment of 46 cents per share on top of it's regular quarterly dividend of $0.46.

The dividend is payable January 15, 2016, to shareholders of record as of December 16, 2015.

Steven J. Johnston, president and chief executive officer, commented, "The company continues to report strong operating performance, providing the opportunity to enhance our 2015 dividend yield. Net income and operating profit each are ahead of the company's expectations for the first three quarters of 2015, up more than 30 percent compared with the first nine months of last year. This strengthens the board of directors' confidence in rewarding current shareholders by returning capital through cash dividends. At the same time, we continue to focus on creating lasting value for shareholders through initiatives for profitable business growth. We believe the company is well positioned for both near-term and longer-term value creation."

Earlier this year Cincinnati Financial raised its by 4.5%, marking 55 years of consecutive dividend increases.
