Greenbrier hikes dividend by 11.1% to $0.30 quarterly in 2023

On June 29, 2023, Greenbrier Cos (GBX) announced a dividend hike of 11.1% to $0.30 quarterly per share. This is the first dividend hike by the rail company since 2020. A new annualized dividend rate of $1.20 per share yields 2.78% at a stock price of $43.10. The next GBX dividend is payable on August 8, 2023 to shareholders of record as of July 18, 2023. Kroger hikes dividend by 11.5% to $0.29 quarterly in 2023

On June 22, 2023, Kroger Co (ticker symbol KR) announced a new quarterly dividend of $0.29 per share, up 11.5% from the previous quarterly dividend. The new annualized dividend rate of $1.16 per share translates into a 2.5% dividend yield at a stock price of $47.00 for Kroger. Kroger has raised its dividend 17 consecutive years if this new 2023 dividend hike is included. The Kroger Co. operates supermarkets and multi-department stores throughout the United States. Kroger operates supermarkets under a variety of local banner names, including pharmacies, fuel centers and jewelry stores. The company's brands include Baker's, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Foods Co, Fred Meyer, Fry's, Gerbes, Harris Teeter, King Soopers, Jay C Food Store, Kroger, Owens Market, Pay-Less Super Markets, QFC, Ralphs and Smith's Food and Drug. The Kroger Co. was founded in 1883 and incorporated in 1902. 

Atrion hikes dividend by 10.3%

Medical equipment maker Atrion Corporation (ATRI) on August 22, 2022 announced that it will raise its quarterly dividend by 10.3% to $2.15 per share. This comes after a 11.4 percent hike by ATRI to $1.95 per share in 2021. The Allen (Texas) based medical products manufacturer has now announced a dividend hike for 19 consecutive years. In a press release we read that Atrion Corporation today announced an increase in its quarterly cash dividend from $1.95 per share to $2.15 per share. Specifically, the Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $2.15 per share on its outstanding shares of Common Stock. This dividend will be payable on September 30, 2022 to stockholders of record at the close of business on September 15, 2022. A new annualized dividend rate of $8.60 per share yields 1.4% at a stock price of $623. Atrion currently pays an estimated $15 million total in dividends annually to shareholders. American Express hikes dividend by 20%

American Express (AXP) plans to increase the regular quarterly dividend on its common shares outstanding by approximately 20 percent, from 43 cents to 52 cents per share beginning with the first quarter 2022, subject to approval by the company’s board of directors. This is the first dividend hike by AXP since 2019.

Shutterstock (SSTK) will raise its quarterly dividend by 14.3 percent to $0.24 per share in 2022. This follows a 23.5 percent dividend hike last year by the global creative platform offering full-service solutions, high-quality content, and applications for brands, businesses and media companies. The next SSTK dividend is payable on March 17, 2022, to stockholders of record at the close of business on March 3, 2022. Royalty Pharma hikes dividend by 11.8%

Royalty Pharma PLC (RPRX) has announced its second dividend hike since the pharmaceutical company became publicly listed in 2020 this year as one of the biggest initial public offerings in the United States. The company initiated a $0.15 per share quarterly dividend in 2020. Royalty Pharma will raise its dividend by 11.8 percent to $0.19 quarterly. This marks the second consecutive year with a double digit dividend hike by RPRX since the largest buyer of biopharmaceutical royalties initiated a 15 cent quarterly dividend in 2020. The dividend yield is 1.98%. Royalty Pharma will pay an estimated annual dividend of $461 million to its shareholders if we include this latest dividend hike. The next RPRX dividend will be paid on March 15, 2022, to shareholders of record at the close of business on February 18, 2022. Preferred Bank hikes dividend by 13.2%

Preferred Bank (PFBC) will raise its quarterly dividend by another 13.2 percent to $0.43 per share in 2021. This is the second dividend increase announced by the commercial bank in 2021 for a total hike of 43.3 percent. Chairman and CEO Li Yu commented, “We are very pleased to increase the dividend as it is a direct reflection of the strong performance of the Bank through the pandemic year.” The next PFBC dividend is payable on January 21, 2022 to holders of record on January 7, 2022. Camden National Corporation (CAC) will raise its quarterly dividend by another 11.1 percent to 40 cents per share. This follows a 9.1 percent increase to 36 cents per share earlier in 2021 by the bank holding company. The FY 2021 dividend hike is 21.2 percent. This quarterly payout results in an annualized dividend yield of 3.52% based on the December 20, 2021 closing price of the Company's common stock at $45.47 per share as reported by NASDAQ. FMC Corporation (FMC) will raise its quarterly dividend by 10.4 percent to 53 cents per share in 2021. Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) will raise its dividend by 10.2 percent to 54 cents per share quarterly. This comes after a 8.9 percent hike to $0.49 per share announced by BMY in 2021. Communications products maker Motorola Solutions (MSI) will increase its quarterly dividend by 11.3 percent to $0.79 per share in 2021. This follows a dividend hike of 10.9 percent to 71 cents per share by MSI in 2020. The year 2021 will mark the 10th consecutive year of dividend increases announced by MSI. The increased MSI dividend will be payable in cash on January 14, 2022, to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2021. The new annualized dividend of $3.16 per share for Motorola Solutions yields 1.2 percent at a stock price of $255.
