AbbVie raises dividend for 46th year in 2017

Dividend Aristocrat AbbVie (ABBV) will raise its dividend by 10.9 percent.

The quarterly dividend will be increased to $0.71 per share by the biopharmaceutical company, marking 46 years of consecutive dividend increases (adjusted for the Abbott Laboratories spin-off).

The cash dividend is payable February 15, 2018 to shareholders of record at the close of business on January 12, 2018.

Since the company's inception in 2013, AbbVie has increased its dividend by more than 77 percent. Year-to-date the stock has gained 48%. The current dividend yield is 2.9%.

Last year AbbVie hiked its dividend by 12 percent.

AbbVie Inc. (AbbVie) is a research-based biopharmaceutical company. The company's Humira medicine (for treatment of psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis) is the world's best selling prescription medicine.
