United Bankshares increases dividend for 41st consecutive year

United Bankshares (ticker UBSI) will pay an unchanged quarterly dividend of $0,32 for this quarter.

Today United Bankshares declared a fourth quarter dividend of $0,32 per share, unchanged from the previous four quarters.

With a total dividend paid in 2014 of $1,28 per share vs. $1,25 for 2013, This year marks the 41st consecutive year of dividend increases to United Bankshares shareholders.

According to the company, United is one of only two major banking companies in the USA to have increased its dividend to shareholders for 41 consecutive years.

"This achievement is evidence of United's long track record of consistent profitability, solid asset quality, and sound capital position," stated Richard M. Adams, United's Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

At today's closing price of $35,15 the indicated dividend yield for United Bankshares is 3,6%.
