Starbucks hikes dividend by 9.8%

Starbucks (SBUX) will raise its quarterly dividend by 9.8 percent to 45 cents per share in 2020. This follows a 13.9 percent dividend increase to $0.41 per share in 2019 and will mark the 10th consecutive year of annual dividend increases by the specialty coffee company. The next dividend is payable on November 27, 2020 to shareholders of record on November 12, 2020. A new annual rate of $1.80 per share yields 2.1% at a stock price of $85.92. In the company's press release dated September 30, 2020 Starbucks announces this dividend hike including a comment from CEO Kevin Johnson: “The Board’s decision to raise our quarterly dividend demonstrates confidence in the strength of our recovery and the robustness of our long-term growth model,” said Kevin Johnson, Starbucks president and ceo. “Our cash flow generation is strong, and we remain committed to reducing our financial leverage while continuing to invest for future growth,” concluded Johnson. OGE Energy hikes dividend by 3.9%

OGE Energy Corp. (OGE) will raise its quarterly dividend by 3.9 percent to 40.25 cents per share in 2020. This follows a 6.2 percent increase to $0.3875 per share in 2019 and will mark the 14th consecutive annual dividend increase by the utility company. The next dividend will be paid Oct. 30, 2020, to shareholders of record Oct. 13, 2020. The new annual rate of $1.61 per share yields 5.4% at a stock price of $29.66. The average dividend growth rate in the last five years is 7.9 percent annually. "Strong operational execution at the utility has enabled us to increase our dividend for the 14th consecutive year," said Sean Trauschke, Chairman, President and CEO of OGE Energy in the company's press release dated September 28, 2020 annoucing this dividend hike. Accenture hikes dividend by 10%

Accenture plc (ACN) will raise its quarterly dividend by 10.0 percent to 88 cents per share in 2020. Last year the it services company hiked its dividend by 9.6 percent to 80 cents per share quarterly. Accenture moved from a semi-annual to a quarterly schedule for dividend payments in fiscal 2020. The next dividend will be paid on November 13, 2020 to shareholders of record on October 13, 2020. The new annual rate of $3.52 per share yields 1.6% at a stock price of $214.63. After this latest dividend increase Accenture will pay its shareholders an estimated annual dividend amount of $2.33 billion. This compares to a current market cap of $136 billion for the company. Accenture has been raising its dividend for sixteen consecutive calendar years with five double digit dividend hikes in the last decade. Lockheed Martin (LMT) will raise its quarterly dividend by 8.3 percent to $2.60 per share in 2020. This comes after a 9.1 percent hike to $2.40 per share announced by the defence company in 2019. This year will be the 18th consecutive year of dividend increases by Lockheed Martin. The next dividend is payable on December 24, 2020, to holders of record as of the close of business on December 1, 2020. A new annual rate of $10.40 per share yields 2.7% at a stock price of $386.70. In the company's press release dated September 26, 2020, the corporation's board announces that it has also authorized the purchase of up to an additional $1.3 billion of Lockheed Martin common stock under its share repurchase program. Honeywell hikes dividend by 3.3%

Honeywell International (HON) will raise its quarterly dividend by 3.3 percent to 93 cents per share in 2020. This follows a 9.8 percent dividend hike to $0.90 per share in the fourth quarter of 2019. The industrial company has raised its dividend 10 consecutive years. The next dividend is payable on December 4, 2020, out of surplus to holders of record at the close of business on November 13, 2020. A new annual rate of $3.72 per share yields 2.3% at a stock price of $161.49. Darden Restaurants reinstates dividend

Darden Restaurants (DRI) will reinstate its quarterly dividend with a new payment of $0.30 per share in the fourth quarter of 2020. Earlier this year the full-service restaurant company suspended its dividend after a 17.3 percent in 2019.  The next dividend is payable on November 2, 2020 to shareholders of record at the close of business on October 9, 2020. The new annual dividend rate yields 1.3% at a stock price of $90 for Darden. In Darden's press release today, reporting fiscal 2021 first quarter results, the company's Board of Directors also announced that it has reinstated a quarterly dividend and declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.30 per share on the Company's outstanding common stock, without further commenting on this decision. General Mills hikes dividend by 4.1%

General Mills (GIS) will raise its quarterly dividend by 4.1 percent to $0.51 per share in 2020. This is the first dividend increase announced by the packaged food and pet food company since 2017. Because General Mills did not announced a higher dividend in both 2018 and 2019 the company's track record of 15 consecutive years of increases ended last year. The next quarterly dividend of 51 cents per share will be payable November 2, 2020, to shareholders of record October 9, 2020. A new annual dividend rate of $2.04 per share will yield 3.5% based on a closing price of $57.99 this Tuesday. Ingredion Incorporated (INGR) will raise its quarterly dividend by 1.6 percent to 64 cents per share in 2020. This follows a dividend hike of 0.8 percent to $0.63 per share announced by the ingredient solutions provider in 2019. This also marks the 10th consecutive year of annual dividend increases by Ingredion based on calendar years. The next dividend is payable on October 26, 2020, to stockholders of record at the close of business on October 1, 2020. A new annualized rate of $2.56 per share yields 3.1% at a stock price of $81.30. This year the stock price of Ingredion has lost approximately 12 percent.  W. P. Carey (WPC) will raise its quarterly dividend by another 0.2 percent to $1.044 per share in the 4th quarter of 2020. This follows a similar 0.2 percent increase announced in the previous quarters, bringing the total dividend increase in 2020 to 0.6 percent. Net lease commercial real estate investment trust W.P. Realty Income Corporation (O) will raise its monthly dividend by another 0.2 percent to $0.234 per share, marking the fourth dividend hike announced by the Dividend Aristocrat this year. Earlier this year the real estate investment trust already hiked its dividend three times for a total increase of 2.9 percent if we include this latest increase just announced. Realty Income is a Dividend Aristocrat having raised its monthly dividend for 26 consecutive years in 2020. Royalty Pharma PLC (RPRX) has announced its first dividend since the pharmaceutical company became publicly listed earlier this year as one of the biggest initial public offerings in the United States. In the company's press release dated September 2, 2020 the company announces that the board of directors of Royalty Pharma plc has approved the payment of a dividend for the third quarter of 2020 of $0.15 per class A share. This first ever dividend of 15 cents per share will be paid on September 30, 2020, to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 15, 2020.
